CRUSHER PLYR 720 Wireless Transmitter FAQs
- Can I use the wireless transmitter with any Bluetooth Headset?
No, the transmitter is designed specifically for the CRUSHER PLYR 720 headset only. - Can I access SKULL-HQ Software using Wireless Transmitter connectivity?
Yes, the transmitter connected to your PC USB-A port and successfully connecting to your headset will give you full access to Skull-HQ features. - Can I use the wireless transmitter to Dual-Wireless to PC or Console and mobile device via Bluetooth at the same time?
Yes, Dual-Wireless, means you can connect your wireless transmitter to your PC or Console and simultaneously connect to any Bluetooth enabled mobile device. You can receive two audio sources at the same time simultaneously. - What is the latency and audio quality specification?
Wireless transmitter has average low latency rating of 40~50ms - Why is low latency audio important in gaming?
A rate from 20 to 100ms can be an acceptable latency for most gaming. Anything from 100-150ms can be workable but will be noticeable. If your game audio is lagging, it’s probably because you are operating over 150ms. Anything over 150ms is going to be noticeably frustrating. Most First Person Shooter (FPS) games require instant feedback for shooters. In order for you to be effective and for these games to function well, there needs to be around 60ms or less of latency. Other games may be able to function well at around 60~80ms, but the FPS genre can be very demanding. - What happens if my wireless transmitter breaks or is lost?
If it is a manufacturer's defect, Skullcandy has you covered with a 1 Year Limited Warranty.

CRUSHER TUNING
Our Crusher driver configuration is a unique system that accurately replicates and enhances the low-frequency range in both an acoustic and physical level. The Crusher driver reproduces the acoustic waveform with an analogous physical force in addition to the acoustic output, so it is very “musical” by nature. It is also highly (and very easily) adjustable with a direct control wheel on your CRUSHER PLYR 720, making it simple to adjust the level for any content and user.
The Crusher bass system is designed to be easily adaptable to any game and any type of audio content. The EQ range of the user controls allows it to be optimized for any user and any music content. In SKULL-HQ, you can adjust the CRUSHER BASS Low and High frequencies to your preferred setting for your specific game audio.
THX Spatial Audio & Head Tracking
CRUSHER PLYR 720 has THX Spatial Audio and Head tracking on the headset and on PC. Therefore, you can use the Skullcandy mobile APP and Skull-HQ, Skullcandy’s gaming PC APP for all THX Spatial Audio and Head Tracking customization.
Spatial Audio
THX Spatial Audio is a sound technology designed to create an immersive, three-dimensional audio experience. It enhances the way you perceive sound by making it seem like it’s coming from specific directions around you — not just left and right, but also above, below, in front, and behind.
What It Actually Does:
- 7.1 Surround Sound: It creates a virtual 360° sound space, so you can hear sounds as if they’re positioned in real-world space — like footsteps behind you or a helicopter flying overhead.
- Precision Positioning: Especially in gaming, it helps you pinpoint where sounds are coming from (gunfire, enemy movements, or environmental cues).
- Improved Immersion: Makes movies, music, and games feel more lifelike by simulating how sound behaves in real environments.
Head Tracking
Head tracking is a technology used in Spatial Audio applications that detects the movement and position of your head in real time to adjust the audio experience accordingly.
Here’s how it works: Sensors inside the headset or using camera in a PC tracks the orientation and movement of your head. When you turn your head, the sound field remains fixed in space — just like it would in real life.
For example, if a sound is meant to come from your left and you turn your head to the right, the sound will now appear to come from behind you. This creates a more immersive and realistic listening experience. Head tracking makes it feel like the sound is anchored to the environment instead of moving with your head. It's like turning your head in a concert hall and still being able to tell where the stage is.
The head tracking on CRUSHER PLYR 720 will automatically and continually calibrate your head’s position every 30 seconds. You can also manually calibrate the head tracking by double clicking the Custom Button located on the upper-right side earcup.
THX Spatial Audio & Head Tracking Controls
- Custom Button 2 second long-press located on the upper-right side earcup to turn On and Off Spatial Audio from your headset
- To apply Head Tracking calibration, double-click custom button located on the upper-right side of earcup. Note: Head tracking calibration or (Re-centering) will occur every 8 seconds automatically. You may manual calibrate head tracking anytime if 8 seconds feels too long for you.
RGB Customization
CRUSHER PLYR 720 has LEDs located inside the inner earcups on both left and right. You have the ability to personalize these lighting effects. These lights can display many color combinations and dynamic effects, giving your headset a unique look that matches your style, setup, and your gameplay.
What can you customize?
